Echo first Judged for The Writers & Illustrators of the Future in 2016. In the following year, Echo was asked to take the role of Coordinating Judge for Illustration. It is her pleasure to be the first to sort through all of the anonymous entries and preselect the best of the best for the rest of the judges to assign grades to. She goes to great lengths to ensure that neither subject or style are considered - only vision, storytelling, and quality of execution. Echo is also honored with presenting the awards and the award checks to the winning illustrators.

In 2018, Echo was given the additional responsibility of art directing volume 34 of Writers & Illustrators of the Future. As such, she was published within Volume 34 with her advice to aspiring illustrators.
